Kish Island rugby 7s The Kish Island rugby 7s event was organized by the Iran Rugby Federation as part of the Asian 7s series circuit Under the auspices of Asian rugby union even though it was not a ranking event the tournament was a great success in terms of the rugby development efforts of ARFU as the two finals were broadcast live on Iran TV and on five other networks throughout Iran and the middle east.

This is the first time that Rugby has been shown on TV in the country The tournament was held in the island resort of Kish Mr.Ross Mitchell the Secretary General ARFU and Mr.Matt Oakley attended to Kish Island 7s , 4 teams took part in the Main event Iran, Jordon , Georgia and Kish island.

The final standings were:

2. Kish
3. Georgia
4. Jordan

The Iran national team was tournament champion with a 15-7 win over Kish island who were runners up. the plate winners were Georgia and Jordon came in the forth place.
